rdio VS Zune Pass- What works for me
It is no secret that music is a large part of my life. Listening to music helps me step away from the corporate hustle and bustle that I deal with on a daily basis. The music industry has changed significantly over the last decade. We have shifted from digital a model where we purchase our digital media from services like that of Amazon MP3 or Apple’s wildly successful iTunes Store to a now popular subscription based services like rdio and Zune Pass. Both have their benefits, depending on your needs either might work well in your use case. Over the last 14 days I have pushed both services to their limits looking for the golden…
Your social voice, can actually be your voice
We hide behind our keyboards, smartphones, and socially connected devices shouting to the world like we have something important to say. We do this in hopes that people will listen and interactive with our thoughts and ideas. One big problem with this is people tend to take on a different personality when hiding behind text. For instance an identity online may be perceived as being a know it all, always making snide remarks when it reality the person is a very kind human being face to face. People tend to care a bit more when the media being presented is more personal. This is exactly what AudioBoo, a social service using voice recordings, plans to…
Roku and hulu team up for a one two punch aimed at Apple.
Being a Roku owner you would this would make me happy right? Well your wrong, hulu+ is far from perfect and in my opinion isn’t worth the price tag at this point. When you pay for premium content you expect premium content not lots and lots of ads. Don’t get me started on Shows with missing seasons. Nothing like starting a series to later find out that oh yea, we couldn’t stream season 3 due to this or that. If that is worth $10 bones a month from you than more power to you. Amplify’d from www.readwriteweb.com Just last week, Roku, makers of popular set-top media streamers, announced the launch of its brand new line…
Blip.fm Dominates Social Music Mindshare While Users Bash Apple’s Ping
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why users are bashing Apple’s latest social music venture. If you have used it you more than likely understand. What about you, do you like Ping? If so what is your reason for using the service? Amplify’d from www.readwriteweb.com A new study of online discussion around social music sites shows Apple’s Ping is the least-talked about among Spotify, Rdio, Blip.fm and Pandora. Of the relatively little being said about Ping, 43% is negative, 3% is mixed and 54% is positive, according to the study by Infegy, which analyzes “chatter” from millions of sites on the Web. Infegy looked at a 10,000 post sample from the past 30…
Google Voice meet Gmail, now play nice
While it has not been officially announced and more than likely won’t be for a while, the folks at TechCrunch has just posted evidence of Google Voice being integrated into Gmail for your calling pleasure. Amplify’d from techcrunch.com It’s amazingly good – I know because I’ve been testing it for the last few days. Just download the Google Talk plugin for your browser and you can then make calls to any U.S. or Canadian phone number directly from Gmail. And if you already use Google Voice you can make those calls anywhere else, too, for a very low per minute charge. The feature is fully integrated into Google Voice, which means you can set Google…

The long awaited Google Wave is here and I’m struggling to figure out what is so special about it. As you can see from the screenshot its a bit daunting at first because it looks like a glorified email client. To be honest it feels like email on steroids. So while you wait on your invite to show up at least you now know what you will be looking at when it comes. Check back soon for more details. Posted via email from Sloan Bowman
